Thomas Buist Mr. Buist is the Division Manager of Building and Safety services for WILLDAN’S Las Vegas office. His responsibilities include personnel training, assignments, quality assurance and liaison between WILLDAN plan check staff and jurisdictions, including client contact, contract preparation and administration, billing, promotion, processing of projects through public agencies for approval and supervision of staff in both clerical and technical capacity. Prior to WILLDAN, Mr. Buist was a partner in Armstrong/Buist Engineering. In that capacity he provided structural design and complete plan and document preparation for residential, commercial and civil engineering projects. Throughout his career, he has been in charge of plan review and approval divisions within public agencies. Other responsibilities included significant experience in field inspection of complex and difficult projects, forensic review of problem projects, client and agency representation in court as expert witness, ordinance development and enforcement, assisted state agencies with standards development, personnel development, assignment, discipline, hiring and evaluation and provided design of both civil and structural projects in Nevada, California and Utah
